TownHall computer servers suck

I just wasted an entire HOUR making a great posting about our holidays and click 'publish' and nothing.  Once it finally grabbed, it said 'error'.  You can't go back because....all of that writing is GONE.  Your servers suck, your techies suck cause they can't maintain the servers and this in not the second time this has happened and you know it.  Fix it or fire the incompetence!  Looking at this webpage I have to write on, it's choked full of ads and news that keep renewing themselves which probably destabilizes the blog page.   So, Townhall, do you want contributers or not?  Fix this problem.

Soldier's Words, not mine

Much of the news that comes to us about Iraq is bad.  Much of the good news is never reported.  But we do read the blogs and occasionally see media stories of the good work that is done by our soldiers.  The glaring fact we all know in our hearts and minds is that our Nation's best, sacrifice daily, year after year, in this 'War on Terror', this War in Iraq and Afghanistan.  While we have more support in us for the War in Afghanistan since it is fact that OBL and his murderous cowards trained and lived under protection of the then Taliban Government, our support for Iraq has waned to the breaking point.  We know that Iran is behind the Insurgents.  We know that Syria is a puppet of Iran being used as fodder for Iran's poltiical purposes.  We also know that the 'Iraqi's will continue to kill each other long after we leave whether a government is seated or not.  We know that the Shia/Sunni conflict will continue until that last of either group has been killed.  We know there will never be 'peace in the Middle East' until God Himself waves his hand over us insignificant humans no matter our technology or religious beliefs.  So why subject troops to any more further mindless police action that hinders our military??  These are not Vietnamese, Germans, Japanese, or any other culture whose people train of thought is bound more by common sense and logic.  These are people bound by an upbringing of religious zealotry and common sense is a hundred years away for most of them.  So, why waste another American or Coalition Partner's life in a land whose people have only united behind their choice of religion or clan??  Moving our troops out 'tomorrow' will not destablize the Middle East.  It will force other Nation's governments and people to make some fast and hard choices for their own survival.  My personal thought is yet to move our forces and bases into Northern Iraq and help the Kurdish Iraqi's maintain their sovereignty and safety and continue to fight heavily in Afghanistan.   Let the U.N. 'montior' Iraq from here on out.  The U.S. accomplished it's mission of removing Saddam after he defied the 17 U.N. resolutions.  The U.S. did this with the 'blessings' of the U.N. and Security Council or they would have stopped the U.S. cold from moving forces into Iraq.  Kofi could have done it if he wanted to at the time by forcing all Nations to resist any assistance to the U.S Military and Diplomatic maneuvers.  Back to my title.  I read this story that I will post.  This story says it all.  This story explains why our troops are no longer needed in Iraq, other than in Northern Iraq.

Doubts Grow as G.I.’s in Iraq Find Allies in Enemy Ranks
By MICHAEL KAMBER
BAGHDAD — Staff Sgt. David Safstrom does not regret his previous tours in Iraq, not even a difficult second stint when two comrades were killed while trying to capture insurgents.

“In Mosul, in 2003, it felt like we were making the city a better place,” he said. “There was no sectarian violence, Saddam was gone, we were tracking down the bad guys. It felt awesome.”

But now on his third deployment in Iraq, he is no longer a believer in the mission. The pivotal moment came, he says, this past February when soldiers killed a man setting a roadside bomb. When they searched the bomber’s body, they found identification showing him to be a sergeant in the Iraqi Army.

“I thought, ‘What are we doing here? Why are we still here?’ ” said Sergeant Safstrom, a member of Delta Company of the First Battalion, 325th Airborne Infantry, 82nd Airborne Division. “We’re helping guys that are trying to kill us. We help them in the day. They turn around at night and try to kill us.”

His views are echoed by most of his fellow soldiers in Delta Company, renowned for its aggressiveness.

A small minority of Delta Company soldiers — the younger, more recent enlistees in particular — seem to still wholeheartedly support the war. Others are ambivalent, torn between fear of losing more friends in battle, longing for their families and a desire to complete their mission.

With few reliable surveys of soldiers’ attitudes, it is impossible to simply extrapolate from the small number of soldiers in Delta Company. But in interviews with more than a dozen soldiers over a one-week period with this 83-man unit, most said they were disillusioned by repeated deployments, by what they saw as the abysmal performance of Iraqi security forces and by a conflict that they considered a civil war, one they had no ability to stop.

They had seen shadowy militia commanders installed as Iraqi Army officers, they said, had come under increasing attack from roadside bombs — planted within sight of Iraqi Army checkpoints — and had fought against Iraqi soldiers whom they thought were their allies.

“In 2003, 2004, 100 percent of the soldiers wanted to be here, to fight this war,” said Sgt. First Class David Moore, a self-described “conservative Texas Republican” and platoon sergeant who strongly advocates an American withdrawal. “Now, 95 percent of my platoon agrees with me.”

It is not a question of loyalty, the soldiers insist. Sergeant Safstrom, for example, comes from a thoroughly military family. His mother and father have served in the armed forces, as have his three sisters, one brother and several uncles. One week after the Sept. 11 attacks, he walked into a recruiter’s office and joined the Army.

“You guys want to start a fight in my backyard, I got something for you,” he recalls thinking at the time.

But in Sergeant Safstrom’s view, the American presence is futile. “If we stayed here for 5, even 10 more years, the day we leave here these guys will go crazy,” he said. “It would go straight into a civil war. That’s how it feels, like we’re putting a Band-Aid on this country until we leave here.”

Their many deployments have added to the strain. After spending six months in Iraq, the soldiers of Delta Company had been home for only 24 hours last December when the news came. “Change your plans,” they recall being told. “We’re going back to Iraq.”

Nineteen days later, just after Christmas, Capt. Douglas Rogers and the men of Delta Company were on their way to Kadhimiya, a Shiite enclave of about 300,000. As part of the so-called surge of American troops, their primary mission was to maintain stability in the area and prepare the Iraqi Army and police to take control of the neighborhood.

“I thought it would not be long before we could just stay on our base and act as a quick-reaction force,” said the barrel-chested Captain Rogers of San Antonio. “The Iraqi security forces would step up.”

It has not worked out that way. Still, Captain Rogers says their mission in Kadhimiya has been “an amazing success.”

“We’ve captured 4 of the top 10 most-wanted guys in this area,” he said. And the streets of Kadhimiya are filled with shoppers and the stores are open, he said, a rarity in Baghdad due partly to Delta Company’s patrols.

Captain Rogers acknowledges the skepticism of many of his soldiers. “Our unit has already sent two soldiers home in a box,” he said. “My soldiers don’t see the same level of commitment from the Iraqi Army units they’re partnered with.”

Yet there is, he insists, no crisis of morale: “My guys are all professionals. I tell them to do something, they do it.” His dictum is proved on patrol, where his soldiers walk the streets for hours in the stifling heat, providing cover for one another with crisp efficiency.

On April 29, a Delta Company patrol was responding to a tip at Al Sadr mosque, a short distance from its base. The soldiers saw men in the distance erecting burning barricades, and the streets emptied out quickly. Then a militia, believed to be the Mahdi Army, which is affiliated with the radical Shiite cleric Moktada al-Sadr, began firing at them from rooftops and windows.

Sgt. Kevin O’Flarity, a squad leader, jumped into his Humvee to join his fellow soldiers, racing through abandoned Iraqi Army and police checkpoints to the battle site.

He and his squad maneuvered their Humvees through alleyways and side streets, firing back at an estimated 60 insurgents during a gun battle that raged for two and a half hours. A rocket-propelled grenade glanced off Sergeant O’Flarity’s Humvee, failing to penetrate.

When the battle was over, Delta Company learned that among the enemy dead were at least two Iraqi Army soldiers that American forces had helped train and arm.

“The 29th was a watershed moment in a negative sense, because the Iraqi Army would not fight with us,” Captain Rogers said, adding, “Some actually picked up weapons and fought against us.”

The battle changed the attitude among his soldiers toward the war, he said.

“Before that fight, there were a few true believers.” Captain Rogers said. “After the 29th, I don’t think you’ll find a true believer in this unit. They’re paratroopers. There’s no question they’ll fulfill their mission. But they’re fighting now for pride in their unit, professionalism, loyalty to their fellow soldier and chain of command.”

To Sergeant O’Flarity, the Iraqi security forces are militias beholden to local leaders, not the Iraqi government. “Half of the Iraqi security forces are insurgents,” he said.

As for his views on the war, Sergeant O’Flarity said, “I don’t believe we should be here in the middle of a civil war.”

“We’ve all lost friends over here,” he said. “Most of us don’t know what we’re fighting for anymore. We’re serving our country and friends, but the only reason we go out every day is for each other.”

“I don’t want any more of my guys to get hurt or die. If it was something I felt righteous about, maybe. But for this country and this conflict, no, it’s not worth it.”

Staff Sgt. James Griffin grew up in Troy, N.C., near the Special Operations base at Fort Bragg. His dream was to be a soldier, and growing up he would skip school and volunteer to play the role of the enemy during Special Operations training exercises. When he was 17, he joined the Army.

Now 22, Sergeant Griffin is a Delta Company section leader. On the night of May 5, as he neared an Iraqi police checkpoint with a convoy of Humvees, Sergeant Griffin spotted what looked like a camouflaged cinderblock and immediately halted the convoy. His vigilance may have saved the lives of several soldiers. Under the camouflage was a huge, six-array, explosively formed penetrator — a deadly roadside bomb that cuts through the Humvees’ armor with ease.

The insurgents quickly set off the device, but the Americans were at a safe distance. An explosive ordnance disposal team arrived to check the area. As the ordnance team rolled back to base, they were attacked with a second roadside bomb near another Iraqi checkpoint. One soldier was killed and two were wounded.

No one has been able to explain why two bombs were found near Iraqi checkpoints, bombs that Iraqi soldiers and the police had either failed to notice or helped to plant.

Sergeant Griffin understands the criticism of the Iraqi forces, but he believes they, and the war effort, must be given more time.

“If we throw this problem to the side, it’s not going to fix itself,” he said. “We’ve created the Iraqi forces. We gave them Humvees and equipment. For however long they say they need us here, maybe we need to stay.”

Reminds me of stories of Vietnam, ARVN by day, VC by night.  And today, we are openly trading with Vietnam and it is now peaceful and posperous again, though Communist controlled, they have enough common sense to let capitalism thrive.  Fighting 'Police Actions' has never won a war!!!  Same goes for Iraq today.  In 2004, our military fought a war, since then, it's been a Police Action.  And for the very reasons I've blogged before........D.C. political meddling into the military and warfighting.

New Star Wars film 'on cards'

STAR WARS fans will sense a disturbance in the force amid rampant rumours that a new movie set before the prequels is to be announced in LA tomorrow.

The news of the "huge" announcement by Star Wars creator George Lucas comes on the 30th anniversary of the first film.

Chris Brennan, a member of Star Walking Inc - the Australian Star Wars appreciation society, is in LA for the offcial convention Celebration IV at the Los Angeles Covention Centre.

He said the rumours sweeping the venue is that Lucas will announce a new Star Wars movie is in the works.

Reports have been circling among fans and on the internet of a new Star Wars movie or movies set before the recent prequels at the time of Old Republic when the Jedi regained control of the galaxy from the Dark Lords of the Sith.

"He did make a slip in an interview a couple of weeks ago and say something about a forthcoming movie,'' Brennan said.

"The reporter went back to him and said `did you say movie?'

"George said no he didn't say that and tried to cover it up.''

Lucas has already confirmed a Star Wars live action TV series will be filmed in Australia from next year and will be set between the recent Episode III and the original 1977 Star Wars film which is Episode IV.

Despite opening in just 32 US theatres (Spiderman 3 recently premiered in 4324 US theatres) across the US on May 25, 1977 it went on to be the second highest grossing film all time behind Titanic.

Australian actors Bruce Spence who appeared in Episode III as Tion Medon as well as Zac Jensen, who played Jedi knight Kit Fitso in Episodes II and III, will be special guests at Celebration IV which will attract more than 60,000 fans, many in the costume of their favourite character.

They will join other cast members from all six films including Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia), Anthony Daniels (C3P0) and Billy Dee Williams (Lando Calrissian) at the convention.
Brennan says LA has been caught up in Star Wars fever.

"Just walking down the street here every second person is a Star Wars fan,'' he said.

"It's a big feeling of brotherhood and sisterhood.''

When asked why he was such a big Star Wars fan Brennan said: "It all comes down to the escapism. People can sit down and start watching Star Wars, any of the films, and get totally absorbed and get transported to a galaxy far, far away.''

Star Walking Inc is organising its own convention to mark the 30th anniversary of the Star Wars premiere in Australian on the 21-22nd October in Melbourne

Song for today so relevant

Silent Running - Mike + the Mechanics
Take the children and yourself
And hide out in the cellar
By now the fighting will be close at hand
Don't believe the church and state
And everything they tell you
Believe in me, I'm with the high command

Can you hear me, can you hear me running?
Can you hear me running, can you hear me calling you?
Can you hear me, can you hear me running?
Can you hear me running, can you hear me calling you?

There's a gun and ammunition
Just inside the doorway
Use it only in emergency
Better you should pray to God
The Father and the Spirit
Will guide you and protect from up here

Can you hear me, can you hear me running?
Can you hear me running, can you hear me calling you?
Can you hear me, can you hear me running?
Can you hear me running, can you hear me calling you?

Swear allegiance to the flag
Whatever flag they offer
Never hint at what you really feel
Teach the children quietly
For some day sons and daughters
Will rise up and fight while we stood still

Can you hear me, can you hear me running?
Can you hear me running, can you hear me calling you?
Can you hear me, can you hear me running?
Can you hear me running, can you hear me calling you?

Can you hear me running (can you hear me calling you?)
(Can you hear me) hear me calling you?
(Can you hear me running) hear me running babe?
(Can you hear me running) hear me running?
Calling you, calling you

Random rants and food for thought

I have a very mundane job at the moment, to some it has importance and may actually help in some way, but as a job....it's a job....contract at that.   So during the course of part of it today, I had thoughts cross my mind I just have to share with you, dear reader who out of shear desperation of finding nothing else better, reads my blog.  I know, the paint is drying and you can't escape the room, that's okay with me.
Company's and CEO's......have you noticed that today's market place is constantly revolving employees more than their product itself?   Why is that?  Why is retention so difficult these days??  If you take a notice, the retention is always in the 'workforce', never in the 'administrative' side.  Wonder why....I don't.  CEO's today are either way out of touch with their workforce or find a perverse pleasure in turning the screws on their workers to 'make profit'.   Dilbert management I surmise.
If you did like me, grew up in the 80's, ever wonder why you could chill out so easily and have time to relax?  Think about it, all you basically had was cable TV,video rentals, the movie theater, concert, real Music Television Videos, and radio or your stereo.
In 2007, you have cable TV with up to 500 channels, your stereo, your IPod, your Computer, Blackberry, Cell-phone-camera-TV-IPod all in one, video on demand, still rentals thank God....plus at least two jobs and/or two jobs and school.
Where do you relax these days and how???  What can you just turn off and do without???  Me, I"ve pretty much given up on movies, but need to change that and give up on TV....most shows suck anyway these days or the writers kill the show off due to lack of creativity...24...BSG.
What about all those electronic records and means of communication we DEPEND upon these days.  Ever catch an episode of Jericho??  With all that we put into our insurance and health records just to name the two biggies, how everything is electronically done....what is going to happen when we get nailed by an EMP?? (Google or Dogpile EMP and learn).  Our entire system is going to collaspe the way things are set up now.  And all the meaningless minutia about this document goes here, this agency says this is the way this or that is done in this order, even legal records can be lumped into this mess of insurance and health.
Turn off the electricity and it's all meaningless.
Get hit with a real disaster, hurricane, fire, tornado, terrorist attack......and all those rules and regulations regarding administration just go right out the window in the face of survival.  So why not do away with all the meaningless ways of doing business and build systems, means, and ways that will not fall easy victim to disaster.  Oh, I know why....lawyers and big business, thrive on the meaningless these days.  No longer the good of the Nation and of the People, it's the promotion and good of oneself over everyone else.
If you read my blog, you notice I'm not fond of Islam.  More and more I believe with every day that this, like any form of strict segregation and discrimination by force, is an evil that free people must resist.   I heard a song a couple weeks ago and it is more relevent today than it was in the 80's.   For today there exist the growing threat of Islamic dominance over the World and those (Socialist, Democrats, Liberals) who ally themselves with and deny that Islam is today's biggest threat to peace.

Conspiracy,Syndicated radio, Third World USA..nine and counting

A few days ago after work, I channel scanned into Sean Hannity, who I have listened to and do thank for all he does for the U.S. Military.  But that day, he cut off two callers in a row who were linking illegal immigration and the North American Union movement.   I thought this was him being more of an RNC spokesman than talk show host.  Most talk show host will cut off any caller real quick if they start sounding conspiritorial, Sean will mock them for a bit.  But all host have done this to a degree, which makes me wonder why After Dark/CoasttoCoast have survived for so long and gained in popularity and have had a huge list of legitmate guest???!!!
Now today, WND is bringing to the light the truth:  PREMEDITATED MERGER
North American union plan headed to Congress in fall
Powerful think tank prepares report on benefits of integration between U.S., Mexico, Canada
http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=55830
Look at the names behind this:  A powerful think tank chaired by former Sen. Sam Nunn and guided by trustees including Richard Armitage, Zbigniew Brzezinski, Harold Brown, William Cohen and Henry Kissinger, is in the final stages of preparing a report to the White House and U.S. Congress on the benefits of integrating the U.S., Mexico and Canada into one political, economic and security bloc.

Now this integration will have one purpose, power for the few over the many.  Mark my words....one of the very first casualties to this merger will be July 4th, American Independence Day celebration and observation.  Since the United States will lose it's soverignty under this bill as a Nation unto itself, there in truth, will be no reason to observe July 4th as American Independence.  It will become a footnote in the new history books of the World Socialist movement governed by therse 'elite' few.
One political........one economic.....one security 'bloc'.   Take three independent Nations and mege them into ONE!!!   That's what this is all about, nothing more and definitely nothing less.  But in the end, it will not work as the millions of those who are outside the United States flood into the land mass that is the United States and begin taking what they now feel is theirs.  The North American continent will resemble Yugoslavia, Lebennon, and Iraq as factions begin fighting for their own automony and outright survival.  Tell me I"m wrong...I dare you.  Tell me this will not happen...I dare you.  Tell me that by invading Iraq and removing Saddam, the Iraqi's will flood the streets with joy and set up a 'democratic' based government and make life sweet for all of them.  Tell me in 1970, that those junkie Japanese autos will never amount to anything.  Tell me that media uncontrolled will have no ill effects on our youth because parents control what kids see and hear.
I tell you, this NAU will be the second nail in the coffin of the United States.

Ah Islam...here we go again

I"m throwing this in the Culture of Life section since while it talks of religion, it is in reality, a 'way of life and culture'.  One that has and will gravely affect the way of life in the United States.  This poll report says more than it displays:   http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=D8P9FI7G1&show_article=1    Click that link to read the whole article, I"m just going to take a few bits and pieces and comment.

WASHINGTON (AP) - One in four younger U.S. Muslims say suicide bombings to defend their religion are acceptable at least in some circumstances, though most Muslim Americans overwhelmingly reject the tactic and are critical of Islamic extremism and al-Qaida, a poll says

So if these one in four young U.S. MUSLIMS decide that their religion is under attack, expect your local Starbucks, Wal-Mart, Macy's, to have someone walk in with a backpack or very loose clothing and terror seen only on our TV's, happen here...courtesy not from Christians, Jews, Hindus, Buddist, Atheist, Wiccans.....but Muslims.

Even so, U.S. Muslims are far less accepting of suicide attacks than Muslims in many other nations. In surveys Pew conducted last year, support in some Muslim countries exceeded 50 percent, while it was considered justifiable by about one in four Muslims in Britain and Spain, and one in three in France.

If the current trend of illegal immigration continues unabated by our lack-luster political leaders in D.C., the U.S. will have that one in four grow to five in ten.  That statistic in Europe is a sad foreboding warning of religious/civil war in the E.U.

In other findings:

_Only 5 percent of U.S. Muslims expressed favorable views of the terrorist group al-Qaida, though about a fourth did not express an opinion.

This is I found startling....ONE FOURTH did not express an opinion, which means to me, they are more likely to support Al Qaida killing European American Caucasions and any Christian or Jew or none Muslim, than they would say anything to authorities to stop such an attack.

_Six in 10 said they are concerned about a rise in Islamic extremism in the U.S., while three in four expressed similar worries about extremism around the world.

_Yet only one in four consider the U.S. war on terrorism a sincere attempt to curtail international terror. Only 40 percent said they believe Arab men carried out the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.

Only 40 percent....????  Put the facts in their faces and they still deny that fact that it was Saudi Arab MUSLIMS that committed the greatest murder spree in U.S. history.  It's a tenent of Islam to deny facts in face of any 'infidel' for the sake of Islam to further Islam and the ulitmate goal of subjugating none-muslims.

_By six to one, they say the U.S. was wrong to invade Iraq, while a third say the same about Afghanistan—far deeper than the opposition expressed by the general U.S. public.

_Just over half said it has been harder being a U.S. Muslim since the 9/11 attacks, especially the better educated, higher income, more religious and young. Nearly a third of those who flew in the past year say they underwent extra screening because they are Muslim.

Wha, wha, wha......more senior citizen bred, born, and raised Americans have gone through more screenings than any muslim thanks to FEAR from our politicians to do the right thing.

Fox News is reporting this poll tonight and shock shock, O'Rielly is supposed to be talking about it tomorrow.  I'm sure there will be a 'spin' favorable to Islam after a call from D.C. to the O'R Show will be made between now and tomorrow night....talking points!!

A Nation can not stand united without a common border, a common language, and a common culture.  Yugoslavia is the best most recent and proven fact of this and it is what WILL happen here within the next thirty years under the current course of action and in-action by our politicians and American population.
Sometimes the right course of action is not the most popular in order to achieve the goal that will benefit the greater good.

ABC News - Treason Central

The blazing headline says it all " Bush Authorizes New Covert Action Against Iran "
May 22, 2007 6:29 PM Brian Ross and Richard Esposito Report: .    The key word here folks is 'covert', which means no one is supposed to know outside of the operational personnel.

"The CIA has received secret presidential approval to mount a covert "black" operation to destabilize the Iranian government, current and former officials in the intelligence community tell the Blotter on ABCNews.com."

But some traitor within the Pentagon, White House, or Congress 'leaked' the story to ABC who being the pro-Hillary-Socialist lap dog organization, thought it would be fun to tell our enemies that U.S. Military and Civilian perssonnel will be in their neighborhood and get ready for them to kill them.
The United States will not stand a chance of survival if/when we have to fight a World War again with the likes of ABC ready to tell our enemies our every move.  ABC -Arnold, Benedict Central, Always Bill Clinton, Americans Bought by China.
  So much for 'journalistic integrity'.

Monkey dead from bubonic plague in Denver
Mon May 21, 2007 8:58PM EDT
DENVER (Reuters) - A Denver Zoo monkey has died of bubonic plague, apparently after eating a squirrel stricken with the disease, Colorado health and zoo officials said on Monday.

Five squirrels and a rabbit found dead on zoo grounds tested positive for the flea-borne disease in recent weeks, Denver Zoo spokeswoman Ana Bowie said.

Zookeepers on May 15 noticed the 8-year-old hooded capuchin monkey was lethargic, and the next day it was found dead in its enclosure. Zoo veterinarians sent tissue samples to a state laboratory where it was determined the animal died of the plague. The death was announced on Monday.

Zoo veterinarian Dave Kenny said that the risk of plague spreading to humans was extremely low but that visitors were being urged to avoid squirrels and rabbits.

"There are species in the zoo collection, especially monkeys, that could be susceptible to the plague," said John Pape, an epidemiologist with the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment.

Bowie said none of the 17 other capuchin monkeys in the exhibit -- or any other animals at the zoo -- have shown plague symptoms. But as a precaution, all the capuchin monkeys have been moved to an inside enclosure and are being treated with a regimen of antibiotics, she said.

Don't fret, Sean Hannity and Bill O'Rielly will do the same to this story as they've done with the Immigration Bill......toe the 'Party line' and say everything is okay.   Everyone is just jumping to conclusions.   I mean, c'mon, Bubonic Plague in Denver, Colorado???!!!  Phaaleeezzz.

   The Black Death: Bubonic Plague

In the early 1330s an outbreak of deadly bubonic plague occurred in China. The bubonic plague mainly affects rodents, but fleas can transmit the disease to people. Once people are infected, they infect others very rapidly. Plague causes fever and a painful swelling of the lymph glands called buboes, which is how it gets its name. The disease also causes spots on the skin that are red at first and then turn black.

Since China was one of the busiest of the world's trading nations, it was only a matter of time before the outbreak of plague in China spread to western Asia and Europe. In October of 1347, several Italian merchant ships returned from a trip to the Black Sea, one of the key links in trade with China. When the ships docked in Sicily, many of those on board were already dying of plague. Within days the disease spread to the city and the surrounding countryside. An eyewitness tells what happened:

"Realizing what a deadly disaster had come to them, the people quickly drove the Italians from their city. But the disease remained, and soon death was everywhere. Fathers abandoned their sick sons. Lawyers refused to come and make out wills for the dying. Friars and nuns were left to care for the sick, and monasteries and convents were soon deserted, as they were stricken, too. Bodies were left in empty houses, and there was no one to give them a Christian burial."

The disease struck and killed people with terrible speed. The Italian writer Boccaccio said its victims often

"ate lunch with their friends and dinner with their ancestors in paradise."

By the following August, the plague had spread as far north as England, where people called it "The Black Death" because of the black spots it produced on the skin. A terrible killer was loose across Europe, and Medieval medicine had nothing to combat it.

In winter the disease seemed to disappear, but only because fleas--which were now helping to carry it from person to person--are dormant then. Each spring, the plague attacked again, killing new victims. After five years 25 million people were dead--one-third of Europe's people.

Even when the worst was over, smaller outbreaks continued, not just for years, but for centuries. The survivors lived in constant fear of the plague's return, and the disease did not disappear until the 1600s.

Medieval society never recovered from the results of the plague. So many people had died that there were serious labor shortages all over Europe. This led workers to demand higher wages, but landlords refused those demands. By the end of the 1300s peasant revolts broke out in England, France, Belgium and Italy.

The disease took its toll on the church as well. People throughout Christendom had prayed devoutly for deliverance from the plague. Why hadn't those prayers been answered? A new period of political turmoil and philosophical questioning lay ahead.

Outside the box on the Imm-Bill

I was thinking a bit today about this Immigration Bill that was done in secrecy, in the shadows, out of the public eye.   I was thinking what if, I was one of the bad guys.  How would I look at the United States?   All the U.S. Government has done is talk talk talk, put up a few miles of fence, run a bunch of dog and pony shows for the media.  But nothing concrete.  Nothing to seriously address the issue and fact that there are at least, 12 Million illegal aliens living inside the United States.  Where at least, 98% of those illegals came across the Mexican Border into the United States.  As a bad guy, I'm not going to worry.  The 'police' in the United States are not allowed to ask if you're an illegal alien, or to ask for any kind of identification.   The citizens of the U.S. have been the most active participants against the illegal alien invasion, but it's been piece meal at best, with their Minuteman Milita groups of old people sitting along the border at various sites.  But as a bad guy, I just use the internet and find out where they are at.
It's been pretty easy being a bad guy.  Sneaking in, actually, just walking into the U.S., then disappearing into a big or small city, smile and say ola to everyone.  It has suited me and my jihadist friends just fine.  With 12 Million and thousands more coming across every day and all the politicians in Washington can do is talk and talk and try their hardrst not to 'offend' anyone.
It's been great.  We're just having a good time, taking jobs that your born and raised sons should have, getting a few of your daughters pregnant too has been a big plus and not worrying about raising the infidel spawn, who may someday, grow up and become like his father.
Yep, sitting on the outside, one does not have to worry one bit about being an illegal inside the United States, the 'Greatest' Generation is about all dead now.  Their children are spineless, their grandchildren are spoiled, and great grandchildren are morally and socially inept and lost and will be easy pickings.
Not too much longer now and the time will come.  Thank you Washington politicians for being so indecisive and split, thank you Americans for lacking courage, actually thank you for caring more about Paris Hilton and American Idol than your own country.   We'll take care of it from here on once we taken care of you.
If I was a bad guy on the outside looking in, this is what I would think.  Fortunately, I'm one of the good guys on the inside.....like millions of others....like our Fore Fathers...waiting to see the 'whites of your eyes'.   We know we can not count on our politicians.  We know, it is our time to take care of our Country, once again.

What the insane Immigration Bill will do to the USA

Allow the 12 MILLION mainly Mexicans into the USA gratis by having broken one major law already and what took place in Mexico WILL happen here in the USA.    President Reagan tried 'amnesty' for 5 million.  That opened the door for 12 Million that President Bush is about to grant amnesty to.  Next it will be 20 million as no one outside the USA will respect any sense of legal immigration.  Let this group of 12 million break the law, and these stories happening now in Mexico will begin happening here.

ARIZPE, Mexico — Assailants shot dead a police commander in a wealthy Monterrey suburb on Saturday, the latest in a wave of killings of law enforcement officials across Mexico.

Mario Sanchez, 47, was killed by gunmen wielding automatic rifles after he finished a night shift in San Nicolas de los Garza, one of Mexico's most affluent municipalities, Mexican media reported.

Police in Monterrey did not answer calls seeking to confirm the killing.

Gunmen linked to drug-trafficking gangs have been increasingly targeting police and soldiers as President Felipe Calderon wages a national offensive against drug cartels, who make billions of dollars smuggling cocaine, marijuana, methamphetamine and heroin into the United States.

On Wednesday, a group of about 50 armed men drove into the town of Cananea, near the Sonora border, and killed five policemen and two residents.

The assailants then fled to the hills pursued by police and soldiers and sixteen assailants were killed in the ensuing gunbattles.

Sonora Gov. Eduardo Bours said authorities have received information that the assault in Cananea was "some kind of retaliation by the hit men for their betrayal by local police, implying that they had had some kind of deal."

Mexican officers often face the choice of "plomo o plata," or "silver or bullets," meaning they can either take bribes to allow traffickers to operate or risk retaliation. Drug cartels place special emphasis on killing officials who break such deals.

Meanwhile, the leader of a state investigative police team was shot and died Friday in Hermosillo, the Sonora state capital about 321 kilometres south of Cananea.

Hours later, gunmen also killed the chief of criminal investigations in the Gulf coast state of Tabasco, Raul Lopez Lopez.

A bloodbath just south of the Mexican border has alarmed neighboring Arizona towns that have nervously monitored a rise in violence in the Mexican state of Sonora the past two months.

Mexican police killed 15 armed assailants in a fierce gun battle Wednesday after tracking a group that killed four policemen, leading to fears this morning that an armed outlaw convoy was headed to the U.S. border.

About 40 assailants apparently related to Mexico's powerful drug gangs, drove in a convoy of up to 15 vehicles into the town of Cananea, 20 miles south of the U.S. border, to seize the policemen Wednesday. Mexican state police confronted the gunmen in the mountains 60 miles south of Cananea and reportedly killed 15 of the gunmen.

(Story continues below)

Today, meanwhile, rumors spread to Naco, Ariz., that its sister city of Naco, Sonora, was threatened with a possible imminent attack from outlaw gunmen who were headed their way.

The Mexican town reportedly closed schools, businesses and city hall.

Jesus Rodriguez, spokesman for the Border Patrol's Tucson Sector told WND the report turned out to be "bogus." He said border agents have been informed of the attacks in Mexico but have not been under any special orders or heightened alert.

Brian Levin, a spokesman for U.S. Customs and Border Patrol, said officers at the Naco, Ariz., port of entry are aware of the situation, but the border is open and operating normally.

There also were reports of a second narco hit squad entering the town of Cuitaca, 10 miles west of Cananea, the Sierra Vista paper said. Local radio stations issued an advisory from city officials to remain at home, according to the Mexican paper El Imparcial.

Officials in the border town of Nogales, Ariz., say they want to see measures taken to ensure the violence does not migrate across the border, NogalesInternational.com reported.

"We are monitoring the situation very closely," Mayor Ignacio J. Barraza said yesterday. "I have asked that the Nogales Police Department prepare a briefing of what has transpired in the last few hours and over the past month."

City officials in Agua Prieta, Mexico – which borders Douglas, Ariz. – were on very high alert, surrounded by police and soldiers, Douglas Mayor Ray Borane told the Herald.

Borane said his officials also were taking a similar cautious attitude.

After news of the Cananea incident, Borane traveled immediately to Agua Prieta for a briefing from Agua Prieta Mayor Antonia Cuadras, who later traveled to Douglas for a meeting at Borane's office.

Borane said he plans to ask for help from the state of Arizona "to provide additional funding for local law enforcement needs."

In Cananea Wednesday, the bullet-riddled bodies of the four policemen were found on the side of a road, along with 50 spent cartridges, hours after they were seized.

A total of five policemen were killed, said Sonora state Gov. Eduardo Bours, but he did not specify how the fifth officer died.

Another incident took place Wednesday in the Sonora state capital Hermosillo, where unidentified assailants tossed a hand grenade from a passing car at the offices of the newspaper Cambio, causing minor damage.

Gov: Attack Was Revenge by Drug Cartel for Police Betrayal
May 19th, 2007 @ 7:38am by Associated Press

A commando of drug hitmen who overran a town near the Arizona border in an attack that left 23 people dead were apparently taking revenge on police officers for betraying an agreement, the state governor said Friday.

Sonora Gov. Eduardo Bours said authorities have received information that the assault in Cananea was ``some kind of retaliation by the hit men for their betrayal by local police, implying that they had had some kind of deal.''

Mexican officers often face the choice of ``plomo o plata,'' or ``silver or bullets,'' meaning they can either take bribes to allow traffickers to operate or risk retaliation. Drug cartels place special emphasis on killing officials who break such deals.

Meanwhile, the terror generated by the attack was palpable Friday, as residents panicked over reports of another possible assault, authorities declared a curfew and drivers raced through the streets, causing several accidents.

Though the reports proved unfounded, the city's mayor said 15 policemen have resigned since the attack.

About 50 assailants, pursued by police and army troops after Wednesday's assault, fled to the hills, ditched their vehicles, commandeered horses and forced ranch hands to serve as guides, according to an account from a man abducted by the armed gang.

Sixteen assailants were killed in the ensuing gunbattles in the rugged desert mountains outside Arizpe, 60 miles south of the U.S. border.

One man who was kidnapped said Friday that his captors identified themselves as ``Gulf people,'' an apparent reference to the Gulf drug cartel. He said they carved a ``Z'' on his back with a knife, referring to cartel's hit men who are known as ``Zetas,'' and demanded money.

The businessman, who asked not to be identified for fear of reprisal, escaped when police began to pursue the gang.

On Friday, Mexican army troops found a body in the search for members of the drug cartel assault force, which kidnapped and killed five policemen and two Cananea residents.

Authorities say they have arrested four suspects.

Mexico is struggling to tame drug gangs responsible for a recent spate of executions, and has sent thousands of police and army troops to several states.

Mexican Federal Public Safety Secretary Genaro Garcia Luna said Thursday that drug gangs are relying on a flow of arms from the United States, including assault rifles, machine guns and hand grenades.

Meanwhile, the leader of a state investigative police team was shot and died Friday in Hermosillo, the Sonora state capital about 200 miles south of Cananea.

Jose Larrinaga, a spokesman for the state attorney general, said there was no information connecting the killing with the violence in Cananea and Arizpe.

Hours later, gunmen also killed the chief of criminal investigations in the Gulf coast state of Tabasco, Raul Lopez Lopez.

Pass this bill that the foolish in the Senate and White House want to pass, pass that bill and it will usher in the start of drug gang wars and public offical corruption that will break this country at it's core.  The time is now for real Americans to take a stand, to rise up and be the true Patriots that our Fore Fathers were.   The Torries of Washington today have only but one thing on their agenda, personal power and lust of money.  They care not of the United States, but of only themselves.  This immigration asylum bill is fit only to benefit the 'New Torries' of the United States, and they are the ones who have drafted and support this bill.   Only a very firm and immediate hard line stance and course of actions can save the future of the USA from the open warfare that plagues the Middle East, Africa, and Mexico.  True Americans, true Patriots, stand now for the future of America is in your hands at this moment.

Third World USA...10 and counting

The Supreme Senate and the Bush misAdministraton did the following:

In a striking reach across party lines, the White House and key lawmakers agreed Thursday on a sweeping immigration plan to grant legal status to millions of people in the country unlawfully.

Sealed after months of secretive bargaining, the deal mandates bolstered border security and a high-tech employment verification system to prevent illegal workers from getting jobs.

President Bush said the proposal would "help enforce our borders but equally importantly, it'll treat people with respect."

I want you to note a key phrase "secretive bargaining", which means this was done without consultation with Constiuients i.e. the American People, having any knowledge of this.  This is not like nuclear technology and military deployments, this concerns our very country and who and how people are allowed in.
You know Mr. President, what would help enforce our borders......all the troops that are from Fort Hood that are overseas playing referee in a Iraqi muslim civil war.  Part of a military members oath is to protect the Constitution from all enemies foreign and domestic.  Part of that protection means physical protection that extends way beyond the guarded walls of the National Archive building.
Who is being treated with respect?? The illegal aliens who broke the laws of the United States or the American people?????  Sure is not me, a bred, born, raised retired military American.  Sure is not my wife, who went through the entire (then INS process over a three year, cost of $3000.00) process, and a FUBAR process it was.  So, it's not respecting those born and rasied, nor those who came here legally, nope, it's respecting the illegal and primarily Latin American people who broke the laws of my country and are on a daily basis, ursurping U.S. tax dollars and JOBS that Americans would do if they were not undercut by low wages and a welfare system that has created a society of apethetic lazy bums (skin color does not apply).

Sen. John McCain (news, bio, voting record), R-Ariz., who led the charge last year to push through an immigration overhaul, called the deal "the first step" and urged moving it forward before the politics of 2008 made such action impossible.

"We all know that this issue can be caught up in extracurricular politics unless we move forward as quickly as possible," said McCain, who is seeking the GOP nomination for president.

Seems those 'politicians' who live along the border with Mexico are the most to give up on enforcing existing laws and getting tough on illegal aliens.  Fear of the Mexican.  Tu quiere guerra con Los Estados Unidos...trajaylo.
The ghost of the Army of the Confederacy is about to ride again, to fight again to save State's rigths, to fight again to preserve the dreams, vision, and way of life set forth by the Founding Fathers, to save a Nation from an invading force.  But this time, the Confederacy will not be just made up of 'Southern' States, it will expand the entire breadth of the Nation as real Americans each day, become more and more disolussioned with the politicans in Washington D.C.

In plain sight.....Americans do not trust our polticians to do the right thing.  That is a fair weather bell warning a blind, deaf person could see and hear.  I say that not mocking the handicapped, but as a plain observation example.
Ten and counting.......this bill will be the first of the final ten nails to go into the coffin that will seal the fate of the World's greatest Country.

They missed what Ron Paul said

As we watched the debate in our household last night, myself, I had a better understanding of the candidates.  I didn't get to hear all of the talking heads on the radio today....my new job has me in a 'cave' to describe it best, no radio waves can penetrate the walls.  So my viewpoints are of my own tonight, not skwed by voices of media.  Only one I heard was a local host and some of the 'finest minds in the South' callers.
I told my wife, I don't think Mr. Paul has a big chance of making it to the GOP nomination, but I would have him in my Cabinet for sure.  He would definitely not be a 'yes-man' and his knowledge and experience would be a great asset in any highly charged decision.
Most people missed it in what he said and why.  They missed it that Ron Paul is from one of our Nation's oldest generations and that his views are based on his lifetime experiences and learning enviroments.  I could understand why he is upset, I could understand what he was really trying to relate to the American people.
But it seems most of the talking heads on TV and radio were just shooting from the gut of their mouths without taking the basics of human learning and lifetime experiences that form the person we are.  It was a good debate, look forward to the next one.
As for the Socialist..err, I mean Democrat(ic)s, one:  the DNC Candidates FEAR Fox News and fear the viewing audience of Fox News and also...have NO respect and/or consideration towards the viewing audience of Fox News, otherwise they would not have run away so fast from a televised debate on Fox News.  Secondly:  all  of the DNC candidates might as well just quit now and not waste anymore time and money on running a campaign.  Hillary is the coronated queen that is supported by ABC, NBC(MSNBC), CBS, CNN, and the rest of the mainstream media on TV, radio, and print.  The rest of the DNC candidates don't have a chance of any real support or coverage from the 'drive-by' media.

CBS's Jericho's and the Surge's reality

I've watched the CBS's series 'Jericho' the past two seasons, and much of what the writers had done with the show are fairly accurate as to what will happen to the United States if and when we get hit hard by an attack.  I don't see the 'town' against 'town' wars as much as many roving gangs of murderous opportunist.  Seems someone, though Clinton camp people, are taking things serious enough to start at least doing some serious discussion:

http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2007/05/11/MNG2OPP22R1.DTL&hw=nuclear&sn=003&sc=646

As concerns grow that terrorists might attack a major American city with a nuclear bomb, a high-level group of government and military officials has been quietly preparing an emergency survival program that would include the building of bomb shelters, steps to prevent panicked evacuations and the possible suspension of some civil liberties.

As we witnessed with hurricane Katrina, in the year 2007, after the sneak attack of December 7th, 1941 that brought us into World War Two, after the sneak attack of the hijackings and monsterous murderous actions of the MUSLIM group Al Qaeda, the succeeding Presidents and Congress all, have failed to truely act and initiate legislature and resources to be truely prepared.
All succeeding Presidents and Congress were too busy with their own personal power trips to act together as a Nation and ensure America and Americans were prepared and ready for any kind of catrastrophe be it man or nature.  President Reagan was the only President who acted in a pro-active manner while battling a self absorbed Democrat majority that led Congress the whole time.
A thought to you.  I've been watching the 'Lord of the Rings' movie trilogy the past few weekends, catching bits and pieces, mostly watching the battle scenes which are/have been Oscar material rightly so....but as I watch, I see today's history unvieling.  I see the dark armies of Mordor, made up of murderous hideous orcs, monsterous creatures, men of black hearts and minds, fighting against armies of men, elves, dwarfs.  The similarity between them to me represents modern day Islam of the Middle East and the Europe/America and the rest of the non-Islamic World.  J.R. Tolkein was way ahead of his time in thought, maybe he was prophetic in his words in which he foresaw the dangers of Islam.
This now is my segway into 'the Surge'.  I heard on the news and read tonight of now 3 missing U.S. soldiers in Iraq, along with their 'interpeter'.  This news has made me sick and angry.  How FRACKING STUPID could our leadership be????!!!!  Start at the top and go down to the 'Stars' for they are the ones in charge.
"We'll put small detachments of soldiers alongside the Iraqis and they'll stop all of the violent attacks in Baghdad'.
Our leadership has done the classic blunder of falling into the divide and conquer role.  Divide our forces and be conquered.

On June 16, 2006, two American soldiers -- Pfc. Kristian Menchaca of Houston and Pfc. Thomas Tucker of Madras, Ore. -- went missing after their Humvee was ambushed at a checkpoint near Youssifiyah, north of Mahmoudiya.

Their bodies were found days later, tied together with a bomb between one of the victim's legs. But the remains were not recovered until the next morning, after an Iraqi civilian warned that bombs had been planted in the area.

One would think that someone would have learned from that horrible lesson.  They did, we didn't obviously and sadly.
I supported the war initially, amid all of the CIA's reports that Saddam had a growing stockpile of WMD's and all of the World's various intel agencies reporting the same thing.  Saddam's refusal to abide by the UN resolutions 17 times.  Anything about Iran had better be 'fool proof'!!!
After four years of a war that has turned more civil than insurgency, it's time to step back and let the inevitable happen unless America is prepared to send hundreds of thousands of Americans into Iraq to seperate all of the combatants, which means a draft of Americans.  Pull out and let the vaccums of power be filled by the victor, and if the victor is Al Qaeda and a Talibanish rule is set up, at least we know where they are so we can 'purposefully' bomb the entire area.  Their children or ours...choose.  In the end, there is no grey area, no middle ground, no compromise, no happy ending written by Hollywood.  It's war, their only victors and the defeated, which in it's archaic way, brings peace.....Shogun Tokugawa finally brought over two hundred years of peace to feudal Japan.
Only massive firepower can subdue today's modern enemy, this piece meal style we are fighting now is only fueling their ranks.  I'm sick of seeing our military being needlessly used and abused.  Our Air Force has been reported as being near broken, great news for China no doubt.  Is anyone in D.C. giving a dang????
