While doing my last posting, I noticed a few other paticularities that need addressing concerning Barak's speech, which I may happily say have pretty much gone un-noticed since Sarah Palin hit the news.
These challenges are not all of government's making. But the failure to respond is a direct result of a broken politics in Washington and the failed policies of George W. Bush.
Barak Obama has been a Senator in this same Washington D.C. that he says has broken policies, Barak Obama is a member of the DNC, the same political party that is the majority of the U.S. Congress the past two years...and no new policies have been issued by them that has done anything to help this Nation and it's People.
We are more compassionate than a government that lets veterans sleep on our streets and families slide into poverty; that sits on its hands while a major American city drowns before our eyes.
The Democrats, under Bill Clinton had control of the Government for EIGHT years where problems plaguing our Veteran's could have been solved then! No Democrats rallied to aid the Veterans and ensure proper care for our Veterans in the past 16 years!! And what political party was in office at the time of New Orleans - Democrats!! City Mayor Nagin - Democrat, State Govenor Blanco - Democrat. The United States in not yet - a Socialist State where the Federal Government rules over everything, that's why we have Mayor's and Govenor's.
I will stop giving tax breaks to corporations that ship jobs overseas, and I will start giving them to companies that create good jobs right here in America. now in breath two he says: I'll help our auto companies re-tool....
Okay, I'm not a MBA but don't our big auto makers have companies overseas in order to produce a vehicle at a cheaper rate for the American consumer??!! So the auto makers get tax breaks somewhere in this process but he plans to also 'help the auto makers re-tool....as long as they don't move any production assets overseas I bet. Which will eventually lead to higher price automobiles for the companies to cover all the cost of production.
Now is the time to finally meet our moral obligation to provide every child a world-class education, because it will take nothing less to compete in the global economy. Michelle and I are only here tonight because we were given a chance at an education. And I will not settle for an America where some kids don't have that chance. I'll invest in early childhood education. I'll recruit an army of new teachers, and pay them higher salaries and give them more support. And in exchange, I'll ask for higher standards and more accountability. And we will keep our promise to every young American - if you commit to serving your community or your country, we will make sure you can afford a college education.
Let's start in Clayton County, Georgia.
Thursday, August 28, 2008
Clayton County schools are the first in the nation in the past 40 years to lose accreditation, failing to meet eight of nine improvement mandates.
The action by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools came a few hours prior to Gov. Sonny Perdue’s announcement that he was immediately removing four school board members found to have flouted the law. A state administrative judge had recommended their removal.
For some reason, I have a feeling that those in this school district are no doubt, Barak Obama supporters. It is what it is. So all the while something like this was happening, where was the concern, the help, the assistance of Sen. Obama and his supporters??? Why is it that 'demographically' speaking....'certain' demographic schools are the one's failing?? Why? I personally know a family that left that area this year, after living there for years.....
Now is the time to finally keep the promise of affordable, accessible health care for every single American. If you have health care, my plan will lower your premiums. If you don't, you'll be able to get the same kind of coverage that members of Congress give themselves. And as someone who watched my mother argue with insurance companies while she lay in bed dying of cancer, I will make certain those companies stop discriminating against those who are sick and need care the most.
Affordable health care. 'State' meaning Federal Government..run health care institutions. That's the only way this plan can be accomplished. Which health companies are begin discriminatory....Atnea, Blue Cross-Blue Shield, Cigna....I'm just putting in names of major companies, none have been identified by Obama or myself, but one or more of these companies must be in the cross hairs of Barak Obama, the ACLU, for upcoming investigations and litigation.
Now is the time to change our bankruptcy laws, so that your pensions are protected ahead of CEO bonuses; and the time to protect Social Security for future generations.
I want to take this time to remind you dear reader of something that was slipped during a Congressional Hearing recently: Rep. Maxine Waters: "And, guess what this liberal will be all about? This liberal will be about socializing... uh, will be about, basically taking over and the government running all of your companies. "
Every single CEO in the United States had better read this again: "...will be about, basically taking over and the government running all of your companies." Now ask yourself, what behind the doors conversations led to this train of thought in Maxine Waters and whom was she having these talks with??
Now, many of these plans will cost money, which is why I've laid out how I'll pay for every dime - by closing corporate loopholes and tax havens that don't help America grow.
That pretty much says it all, if your company is not being seen as benefitting Americans in their eyes....your profits are gone!! But they have plans anyway of running your companies...read above about Maxine Waters and let that drill into your brain!
But we must also admit that programs alone can't replace parents; that government can't turn off the television and make a child do her homework; that fathers must take more responsibility for providing the love and guidance their children need.
Individual responsibility and mutual responsibility - that's the essence of America's promise.
Somehow that scares me. If the Obama Government feels you, as a parent, are not taking care of a child to their standards....some heavy hand of a law is going to land on you and force you into something, either work-release programs or jail. Fathers must take more responsibility.....Obama is going to force something on you somehow.
John McCain likes to say that he'll follow bin Laden to the Gates of Hell - but he won't even go to the cave where he lives.
As President Bush (43) may have had a bad inner feelings toward Saddam Hussein and Iraq, it seems that Obama has something inside against Pakistan.
I will rebuild our military to meet future conflicts.
I have a posting on BirdsEyeView of a YouTube video that has Barak Obama explaining how he is going to cut n' gut our U.S. Military which will threaten our National Security and those of our Allies.
But I will also renew the tough, direct diplomacy that can prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons and curb Russian aggression. I will build new partnerships to defeat the threats of the 21st century: terrorism and nuclear proliferation; poverty and genocide; climate change and disease.
Barak Obama has been in the U.S. Senate since November, 2004. Actually didn't start working at the 'job' until January 3rd, 2005. So as Senator....he had the opportunity to directly challenge Iran, who in 2004 was already embarked upon a nuclear program. Why did he wait?? It wasn't until late in 2007 did Obama do something concerning Iran: He sponsored the "Iran Sanctions Enabling Act" supporting divestment of state pension funds from Iran's oil and gas industry, and co-sponsored legislation to reduce risks of nuclear terrorism. Timing is everything it's said....
We may not agree on abortion, but surely we can agree on reducing the number of unwanted pregnancies in this country. The reality of gun ownership may be different for hunters in rural Ohio than for those plagued by gang-violence in Cleveland, but don't tell me we can't uphold the Second Amendment while keeping AK-47s out of the hands of criminals. I know there are differences on same-sex marriage, but surely we can agree that our gay and lesbian brothers and sisters deserve to visit the person they love in the hospital and to live lives free of discrimination. Passions fly on immigration, but I don't know anyone who benefits when a mother is separated from her infant child or an employer undercuts American wages by hiring illegal workers. This too is part of America's promise - the promise of a democracy where we can find the strength and grace to bridge divides and unite in common effort.
I know there are those who dismiss such beliefs as happy talk. They claim that our insistence on something larger, something firmer and more honest in our public life is just a Trojan Horse for higher taxes and the abandonment of traditional values. And that's to be expected. Because if you don't have any fresh ideas, then you use stale tactics to scare the voters. If you don't have a record to run on, then you paint your opponent as someone people should run from.
Huh? What?! You see how Obama took some of the most important issues of abortion, gun rights, life styles, and lumped them casually together then threw a deflector in their that actually he tells of himself "if you don't have a record to run on.." to not have to deal with those issues and let the American People know exactly where he stands on those issues.
Change comes to Washington. Change happens because the American people demand it - because they rise up and insist on new ideas and new leadership, a new politics for a new time.
Obama has been talking about 'change' his whole campaign....change in Washinton, change, change, change. Then he picks one of the longest serving Senators in Joe Biden as a VP, whereas Sen. McCain gets a total Washington outsider (and a woman) as his VP. Who wants real change Obama??!!
This country of ours has more wealth than any nation, but that's not what makes us rich. We have the most powerful military on Earth, but that's not what makes us strong.
Two things definitely at the fore front of Obama's mind, thinking, and planning. The 'wealth' of the United States and how he is going to take it, and the Military power and how he is going to reduce if not eliminate it.
The rest of the speech is fluff, some of it just very repetative of itself. But please take note of these few items that caught my eye today. And pray, for the people already affected by Hurricane Gustav and those about to be affected and that get affected by this massive storm.
