Pres Obama's upcoming speech is a total waste of time and money, money we as a s Nation do not have to spare. Story online now states that "debt by the public has now increased 59%" since Obama took Office. Pres Obama's upcoming speech has already been marred by huge controversy, first date coincided with the Republican Presidential debate from the Reagan Library in California. Second date, now coincides with opening date of the NFL season. Obama must be such a narsassist, that he has a huge need to step into other people's limelight no matte the situation.
Seriously, here is the reason why this speech a) is a waste of time, b)does not warrant a joint session of Congress. A. A few hours prior to any major televised speech, the White House releases the speech to all the media types/talking heads, so in effect, we already know what the President is going to say. Obama is not alone in this, I don't know how long this 'practice' has been going on, but in my blue collar world, this is just stupid. A President gives a copy to the media of his big speech, so really, there's no need to have a televised speech since the media already has a copy and the World can digest what is written. The talking heads afterwards are going to drone on for about an hour on every cable channel, 'the President's speech, which we have a copy of...blah blah blah.' And all that hype, all of the media attention, will in the end, I guarantee you, amount to nothing. And timing.....like I'm going to give up watching the Packers to listen to Obama, when I can read about it all later..if I choose so. Packers always come first, no matter political affiliation of the President. This 'jobs' speech is going to end up being a whole lot of nothing, this falls under B. It's just a 'jobs' speech. It's not State of the Union, it's not following an serious/deadly incident upon the United States, it's just a jobs speech. Something that at the end of the day, politicians in Congress are just going to argue over and it will go nowhere, since it really will not solve anything. This speech can be Rose Garden, 2pm middle of the Rush Limbaugh show speech for all the real necessity and importance level warrants.
If Obama really wants to make a difference for this Nation, then his speech will be short and simple....'I immediately resign from the Office of the President, for the good of the Nation." Then the rest of the Federal Government can do what America is literally screaming at them to do....GET OUT OF OUR WAY, GET OUT OF OUR LIVES. When we want your help, we'll ask for it.
America is not going to listen to this speech....I guarantee it. Only talking heads will and a 'captured audience' of Congress will. The rest of America will be going on with our lives because this upcoming speech is a waste of our time and money too. We the People, know, it will not solve anything.
