My boss and I made a conscious decision to take today off and 'celebrate' with family and friends. The product in which we produce can withstand that day off. The number of lives and the significance of what we do, is marginal. Even a high priority job, can often wait a day, but sometimes a must have now does arise and we 'git r' done'.
Since I have today off, I flip on the radio to listen to 'talk radio' while doing work around the house or driving. But today, it's all 'the best of Laura, the best of Rush, the best of Sean, the best of Mike, the best of....fill in the blank. They all took today off. To me, their voices are just as important as our Military personnel that are fighting and standing guard for this Nation's very existence today. These talking heads may not know it, but I, and maybe others, have 'drafted' these people into 'service' for this Nation. It's very life depends upon communication and information. Our military depends upon it, and so does every civilian, every American.
Tomorrow, all of these talking heads will be back on the radio. And tomorrow, they all will excoriate Barack Obama for his speech last week of chastising Congress for taking time off and then himself, jetting up to Camp David to take time off. Hello McFly, you see the double standard in that??!!
You people in talk radio, heed me well. You do not have the luxury now to take time off and whoop dee do around the Nation. You will not have a Nation if Obama get's re-elected. The 'Fairness Doctrine' will be rewritten and shoved through by Obama and his Czars into Law, rubber stamped by Eric Holder as Law. And you all will be without a job, and that will just be the start of what they will begin to take from you.
There are only a very few of you in talk radio. There are millions of us out here. Your voices are needed now. Your insights are needed now. Your strength to rally people is needed now. You do not have the luxury of time to take off any more!! Our Armed Forces, their war is in Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, and everywhere that terrorism and despots roam. Our Armed Forces just don't take the day off, they can not afford that luxury for the sake of this Nation. You, talk radio, do not have that time any more, for the very sake of this Nation. Hypocrisy is a foul tasting matter. Do not tell us that 'we need to organize, march, etc' when you yourselves, go to the beach, go to the mountains, go golf, go on a cruise, etc.
Our Founding Fathers, our Revolutionary Army, knew they could not just take the luxury of time off when the very existence of this Nation was at stake. Do not be so naive, that you believe you can just blow off your duty, to do what now must be done. To save this very Nation, you all so often talk so glowingly about. One famous talking head admits that he does his job, for pay, and that if he loses his audience, he will just go home. Now his show, is often very critical of the left, of Obama, supports God, Country, and Flag, but I question his true patriotism in these dark days. As will I question every talking head that waves the Red, White, and Blue, holds up a Christian Bible, or the U.S. Constitution and declares something grand about one or all in the name of this Nation...and yet....it is only for a 3 hour radio set and then off to Broadway for a show and dinner. Must be nice to fight a war that way.
