Health Care bill gives me a heart attack

First things first.....Mr. President...What is the hurry to get this health care bill done?  Seriously.  At 1,018 pages .....that were not read by the Congress that voted on it...nor read by the President who is in a huge rush to sign it......1,018 pages.  Just a few factoids B.E.V. found via AARP.

OST: About $1.5 trillion over 10 years.

HOW IT'S PAID FOR: Revenue-raisers include: $544 billion from a new income tax surcharge on single people making $280,000 a year and households making $350,000 and above; $37 billion in other tax adjustments. About $500 billion in cuts to Medicare and Medicaid. About $200 billion from penalties paid by individuals and employers who don't obtain coverage.

REQUIREMENTS FOR INDIVIDUALS: Individuals must have insurance, enforced through tax penalty with hardship waivers. The penalty is 2.5 percent of income.

REQUIREMENTS FOR EMPLOYERS: Employers must provide insurance to their employees or pay a penalty of 8 percent of payroll. Companies with payroll under $250,000 annually are exempt.

SUBSIDIES: Individuals and families with annual income up to 400 percent of poverty level ($88,000 for a family of four) would get sliding-scale subsidies to help them buy coverage. The subsidies would begin in 2013.

HOW YOU CHOOSE YOUR HEALTH INSURANCE: Through a new Health Insurance Exchange open to individuals and, initially, small employers; it could be expanded to large employers over time. States could opt to operate their own exchanges in place of the national exchange if they follow federal rules.

Let's take a quick look ourselves at just those:

COST: About $1.5 trillion over 10 years.      How do we balance our National budget and get OUT OF DEBT with such a massive cost program?

HOW IT'S PAID FOR: Revenue-raisers include: $544 billion from a new income tax surcharge on single people making $280,000 a year and households making $350,000 and above; $37 billion in other tax adjustments. About $500 billion in cuts to Medicare and Medicaid. About $200 billion from penalties paid by individuals and employers who don't obtain coverage.

Now, this is just 'estimated' cost and how those 'cost' will be 'covered'.  Estimated based on some group of people locked away in some small office spaces, pushed by their superiors to get this Bill written and one their desk.....bills are written by staff not by the actual Congressional members.  So these staff peoples had to figure out where the money would come from.....and that's what they came up with..not what the reality in the end would/will be, which always....ends up on the backs on the lower income tax payers.  Always.

REQUIREMENTS FOR INDIVIDUALS: Individuals must have insurance, enforced through tax penalty with hardship waivers. The penalty is 2.5 percent of income.

Penalties!!??  Penalties??  Is this supposed to be 'free' America?  Land of the free, home of the brave?  What freedom?  More oppressive, illegal, immoral, unjust penalties that the law abiding American will be slammed with, jailed with, and in some cases.....death from suicide, death from stress related..penalties from this bill.  Mark my words.

REQUIREMENTS FOR EMPLOYERS: Employers must provide insurance to their employees or pay a penalty of 8 percent of payroll. Companies with payroll under $250,000 annually are exempt.

How does this really help the Nation?  Was this Nation built upon such oppressive measures put upon employers?  Was this Nation saved from World Fascism in the 1940's by such employer oppressive measures?  More penalties for the law abiding, tax paying American...brought to you by Barack Obama and the DNC.

GOVERNMENT-RUN PLAN: A new public plan available through the insurance exchanges would be set up and run by the secretary of Health and Human Services. On average it would pay Medicare rates plus 5 percent to doctors.

Key words dear reader:   Government-run  At no time in American history, has any entity 'run' by the Government, even my beloved Military has had it's many moments of incompetence, over-run budgets.  But not like anything run by the civilian Federal Government.  The VA Hospitals are the first horror memory I  have.....North Chicago, 1985, my class did an few nights of work there....'just shoot me' if I end up in such a place, and I'm not joking.  The terrorist in GITMO are far, far better treated than those patience in VA Hospitals.    So expect this Uncle Obama Health Insurance Company to have miles and layers of nothing but bureaucracy, incompetent employees hired via social experiment programs, and a cost that will only continue to rise.

Yes, this Nation needs 'health care reform', but it starts with the private insurance companies, privately run hospitals, working together to serve the people's needs of this Nation.  The Government's job, State and Federal, is to ensure their People are taken care of by these current systems which have already, given this World the best health care ever.

But this current plan.....is bad, bad, and just plain bad.
